Race Parking
Runners arriving early can park in the main paved lot inside Alley Park. From there, follow the signs to the start/finish area at the nature center. If you arrive after 7:30am, please plan on parking across the street in the large grassy lot (Google Map). From there, cross the road and proceed into the park towards the nature center. From the grassy lot to the start/finish area is a 5-10 minute walk.
There is NO race parking along the road, at the cabin, or at the start/finish area. Please do not park anywhere “no race parking” signs are posted so we can keep the event safe for all participants!
Course Information
The 5k course starts and finishes at the Nature Center, overlooking Lake Loretta. The course uses technical single- and double-track trails throughout Alley Park, with a small bit of paved and gravel road at the beginning and end of the course. A water stop will be available near the halfway point. This course makes for an excellent introduction to trail running, showcasing the foothills of Ohio’s Appalachian region.
Total distance: 3.54mi / 5.7km
Total ascent: 814ft / 248m
The 28k course starts at the same time as the 5k and requires five total loops of the park. A fully stocked aid station will be available at the start/finish with food, water, and electrolyte drinks. Runners can also receive aid from their crew and place drop bags at this location. While far shorter than a traditional marathon, this race will feel like an ultra and put to rest the adage that “Ohio is flat.”
Total distance: 17.7mi / 28.5km
Total ascent: 4,070ft / 1,240m
Both distances have a cut-off of five hours (2:00pm*). At this time, the finish line will close. Any runner finishing after 2:00pm will be designated FNT (Finished—No Time Given). To be eligible for prize money, awards or a finisher medal, a runner must complete their chosen distance within the time cap. *If race start is delayed, the cut-off time will be adjusted accordingly.
